I teach high school English in a small town in central Missouri. I am married, have one daughter and will soon have a son. I like reading, writing, hiking, and cooking. Luke and I know each other from living on the same road growing up and being in the awesomest band ever together.

Comment: I love your CD sleeves. Are you cutting up your kids' picture books? I also love your CD mix; a breezy summer set. I am going to have a party on my new deck and use it as a soundtrack. Some standouts are track 2 and the G-love tune...

Response: Well, sort of...the school library gives away a bunch of books every spring and a always take a box-full, some to read and some to cut up into CD sleeves. Deck party sounds awesome, I'm so glad you're using my CD!

Comment: nice cd cover. i heard that 'Shankhill Butchers" song on World Cafe and have wanted to check that out further. Also great to see Ballydowse (RIP)--one of my all-time fave bands (their predecessor's (crashdog) album OuterCrust is on of my "desert island" pics). funny we both had tickelpenny corner on there. and, i am digging Flogging Molly. thanks! hope all is well!

Comment: very cool cd envelope! is one of the songs at the end an anthem for ex-youth pastors? "working for the church..."

Response: Yeah, that song (whole album, Neon Bible, actually) reflects a lot of my emotions concerning my former life as a professional Christian. I hope the song doesn't come off as cynical because I don't perceive it that way. It's kind of cool that Neon Bible was actually recorded in an old church using the original pipe organ.
