It's part of the design that can be utilized as well. That was the first paper bag book I'd ever made (for a swap - my partner's profile inspired me to do another one in a different theme). Some people keep them and put personal mementos in the pockets or give them as gifts with flat items in the pockets. I've also seen people make their own journal inserts and stick them in the pockets. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it :)
